We have openings for Community Ambassadors in the following Design Communities…Wait, what’s a Community Ambassador? What’s a Design Community? Okay, our chapter is broken into nine “Design Communities” and within each community is a “Community Ambassador” (this is where you come in). The ambassadors work to increase participation in their community by coordinating events and communications. Okay then, here’s the open design communities:

ASID FSC Public Relations is Everyone’s Business
Everybody understands the importance and impact of an effective PR campaign. When comes to our organization, our profession as well as our business, we do not want them to be the best kept secrets. We want to have a voice and we want it to be heard. We need to be visible and recognized for who we are. We need to build relationships.
We believe that Public Relations is everyone’s business. We believe that for our Chapter these goals can be achieved through our members.
ASID Florida South Chapter is in a constant pursuit of new and diverse venues to promote our organization, its purpose and mission. It is also our goal to provide our members with wide-ranging opportunities for networking and for growing their businesses.
We would like to contact several South Florida newspapers and publications and offer to their readers our members’ knowledge and expertise on a variety of design-related topics:

We can demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively change people’s lives. If you would like to contribute, please let us know.
Everyone loves a good story! We are often presented with editorial opportunities and would love to showcase not only the talents, but also personal interests and hobbies of our members. We are certain that everyone has something to share.

We make every effort and recognize the importance in getting involved with a variety of community outreach events and charity projects.
• Our members have formed ASID FSC teams and participated in the last few months in HeartWalk in Ft. Lauderdale and Naples as well as Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in downtown West Palm Beach.
• We are very excited about assisting Quantum House in West Palm Beach in renovating their 10 suites for their upcoming 10th anniversary.
• These are wonderful opportunities to support great causes and be visible in local communities.
ASID FSC EVENTS
The best thing you can do for yourself is to connect with people. These days, blending both the old and new methods of PR strategy is essential. We cannot ignore the power of the Web: websites, blogs, forums, and especially the social media networks. However, the traditional methods of face-to-face interaction will continue to be critical in building PR strategy.
Get to know your peers, industry partners, and meet potential customers. Let them notice that you are approachable, likeable and knowledgeable.
